Store to Abode Fridays #13 - chalkboards

{source}
For Store to Abode Fridays, we take one item from the store as inspiration and show you how to use it in your home.

Chalkboards are wonderful, non-permanent ways to capture your favorite thoughts, ideas, and lists.

You can purchase a ready-made piece, but these are also inexpensive DIY projects, which makes their display that much more rewarding.

Here is the inspiration photo I took a few weeks ago at The Old Lucketts Store.   Mixing antique architectural elements with chalkboards is one of our dealer, Robert's, signatures.  Look for his items outside in his pavilion, in the hallway on the second floor, and two adjacent rooms on the third floor of The Old Lucketts Store {dealer code RMB}.

And here are some ideas for chalkboard pieces in your home!

{1}  Chalk paint was used on this pantry door as a space for reminders and a place for doodles.

{2}  A framed chalkboard is a great way to capture a favorite quote.

{3}  No writing on this one.  Just a plain chalkboard and other educational accessories to rock the schoolhouse style.  {Love that blue typewriter and globe too by the way}.

{4}  This oversized chalkboard helps keep track of the wine list in this beautiful sun room.  This would be simple to duplicate with chalk paint and extra molding.

{5}  This salvaged window was backed with a chalkboard and helps keep this family super-organized.  This is a good DIY project for those of you wondering what to do with all those salvaged window frames you love so much.

Now write this down on your chalkboards!!!
One week to go until Spring Market {May 19 & 20, 10am-5pm}
The Market will be at 42350 Lucketts Road, Leesburg, VA.
$7 per person/day {children 12 and under are FREE}
Expect great dealers, great items, and a ton of fun.  See you there!

Have a great weekend everyone!
